The programs and services at CCSV are designed to help and empower those in need throughout the community. We seek to promote self-sufficiency by educating the community about the various helpful services available to them. Our team of CCSV leaders and dedicated community volunteers conducts the following programs on an ongoing basis while also providing other services as needs emerge in the community.
Food Pantry
CCSV holds a monthly drive-through food pantry on the first Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at the Yale Seventh-day Adventist Church, 19155 Courthouse Road in Yale, Va. Approximately 250 households are supported through this program each month. For those unable to travel to the food pantry in person, delivery is available. There is no need to register for drive-through service. Just show up!
Men’s Mentoring Group
In June 2025, CCSV launched the Men 2 Men Mentoring Circle, a mentoring group designed to empower boys and men by providing positive male role models who inspire growth, integrity, and leadership through mentorship, guidance, and community engagement. Meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month at the Millard and Florence Stith Community Center in Jarratt, Va. Check our Events and Activities page for the next meeting date.
Back-to-School Event
Each year, CCSV holds a back-to-school event with water slides/bouncy houses and a backpack/school supply giveaway for children in the community. The 2025 event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 2, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Millard and Florence Stith Community Center in Jarratt, Va. Vaccinations for children and adults also are available at this event. Organizations, businesses, and members of the community are asked to donate new backpacks, school supplies, and refreshments for the event. Volunteers also are needed to help with this exciting community tradition.
Fall Festival
Each October on the Saturday before Halloween, CCSV holds a Fall Festival for the community, complete with a Trunk-or-Treat Halloween celebration for children. Donations of candy, food, and other items are needed each year. More than 300 people attend this annual event, which takes place at the Millard and Florence Stith Community Center in Jarratt, Va.
Thanksgiving Meals
CCSV provides around 200 prepared Thanksgiving meals each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to area senior citizens. Meals, complete with warm conversations, are delivered to those who are homebound or without transportation; meals for those with transportation can be picked up at the Millard and Florence Stith Community Center in Jarratt, Va.
Christmas Toy Drive
CCSV coordinates with area schools, churches, and businesses to make sure every child in the community receives gifts at Christmas. Donations are collected starting in October, and the toy give-away takes place in mid-December at the Millard and Florence Stith Community Center in Jarratt, Va. Toys are provided to approximately 450–500 children each year.
